Hi guys,

Does anyone have any of these in their collection?

I know there is a thread on RS and they talk about a slightly larger helmet (OhEr!!)

I have received an example today where the helmet seems to be the same size as a painted one.
The plastic seems softer and more pliable and it has a large circle inside the helmet.

Does seem to have been paint stripped.

Any thoughts??

I'll get sme photos up later

Helmet:
found this
"There are many mysteries involving the different versions of Boushh Helmets that have shown up over the years. There are however two basic versions that are well documented. The first version is the Hong Kong produced helmet, which sports smooth semi-glossy orange plastic, where the second version -from Taiwan- was moulded in a flat, somewhat flimsier plastic."
seems like you have a paint stripped taiwan version

Here's some photos...

sorry Stu, looks paint stripped tome - is it paint or dirt around the ear pieces

I know it looks like paint residue around the ear pieces,
but it seems to be worse on the photo than it actually is.

I'm gonna have a go through a microscope to see if there is darker paint
residue. It's definately smaller and it's been matched up with a Taiwan Leia.

The guy who was selling it was selling off his collection including some rarer variants including a DT Luke.
He reckons he purchased this from Hollywood collectibles?!

They're good sellers, so it could be ok

heres another angle :D you can see the opening in the helmet of the unpainted one is longer than the other hope it helps

I would say that it is a stripped one, I am only going on all the information available. You may have a one off factory error, completely different to the confirmed (almost anyway) unpainted variant. The thing that puts me off is that it differs from the unpainted helmet variant that Carl has kindly shown us. If this is a stripped one, its a good example (like the custom one I did) because there are only one or two lines visible on the helmet were something may have been used to remove paint. It looks like no chemicals have been used as this rounds all the edges and is a real tell tale sign. I cant say for sure but my money is on this one being stripped, it wouldnt stop me buying it though. I have paid for a fake just to see it up close before, it is sometimes the best way! lol

I have a first shot helmet that is unpainted, smaler than any other helmet and has a slightly different large dot on the inside (found on every first shot I have seen). I also have an unpainted Lily Ledy factory overstock helmet, put it in a bag of Boushh helmets and 99% of the collectors out there would say its a fake due to it glossy look.
