What do you guys do when a new line of figures comes out and you want to both buy the figures for display (in your collection) and at the same time preserve the figure in the card
do you just display the figure in the card or take it out of the card to display it ( going on the basis of once out of the card its value and condition deteriorate)

cheers

Buy two of them!, open/display/play with one and hide the other away in a dark cupboard not to be seen for 25 years..... Wish I'd done that....

I wouldn't worry about it too much, just enjoy it. I can't see many of the newer mass produced figures being worth a great deal even in 20 years or so as I bet theres lots of people thinking the same and hoarding unopened stuff away. Some modern items may become rare or sought after but how can anyone predict which ones?

I agree with Darth. I dont think they are going to make a huge amount of money in the future as evrybody is now buying them?? All though you can make money on the vareiants. I rember when they started releasing the new figures back in the 90's you could pick up a Darth Vader, Luke and Obi Wan with long light sabres, which they soon stoped producing as they looked too big. Also the Han Solo in hoth gear had a full circle print on his left hand which was meant to be a sought after figure. Not sure what they go for nowadays,

Ah but did they?

Who'd have though back then that in 30 years time there'd be all these nerds talking about it every spare minute they have

yeah but its proberly not the first line of toys to be sought after its just the internet has made it more noticable

These days toys are mass produced so I doubt there will be too many "rare" toys from this era in the future whereas Star Wars started the mass merchandise craze and took everyone by surprise!!

yeah your right, cant see many being of high value in 20-30 years time too, to many ppl who have realised thats where the money is, but its a case of "after the horse has bolted" now i suppose, the real trick was to buy them in the 80s (damnit!) lol
think i will just buy a complete set first and then in a bit maybe buy them again for collection if/when i have some spare cash

but the way things are going i will have just found another line to buy by then, im already wanting all the star wars, thundercats, indiana jones lines, next week it will be A-team or something like lol
