I'm going to be out in Florida later this year, and I'm keen to visit any shops which stock vintage SW goodness. I'll be in the Orlando area but I'm up for a drive if there's somewhere worth it!

Can anyone recommend anywhere?

I'm jealous. We went for 3 weeks in April and it already feels like a lifetime ago. And with not going next year now I'm feeling desperate!

Orlando wasn't great. There is a cool comic shop right opposite the Florida Mall. It's a very cool shop and has stacks of modern stuff I didn't even know existed and some of which is very cool (I came home with a MISB Legacy Falcon....) but zero vintage. The only place I came across was a place in Fort Lauderhill (to the West of Fort Lauderdale). I can't remember any of these shops names now but Google them and you'll find them. The one in Fort Lauderhill was incredible: From the outside it looked awful but step in and you're in a whole new world! Amazing man cave and a good section of vintage. Prices were all over the place: I picked up a nice complete Ugnaught for just over $7 but the Han Bespin I wanted was $30! They had about 15 or so MOCs but all Kenner. There were a few vehicles, too. Some great stuff and the shop is worth it for the experience alone.

Fort Lauderhill is a trek from Orlando. About 2 odd hours. Sell it to the misses by promising a trip to Palm Beach after! It's about another 40 minutes away and great to just have been there.

Will see if I can find some shop names for you and post them up.

Superb mate - well I highly recommend making the effort to visit this place. HUGE selection of modern and vintage SW, staff were very friendly - I messaged them in advance to check stock.

Think it was roughly a 40 minute drive from International Drive but definitely worth it. I took a load of pictures that I'll send you so you get an idea of the size of the place.

Thanks both. :) I've never found anywhere decent but then I've never really gone looking.

I'd appreciate anything you can find Scruufy, especially if you've been and can recommend them. And cheers for the offer of pictures Colin, I'd love to see them!

I wanted to make it to this place but just ran out of time. Yes, about 40 min drive in good traffic. Seen it on TV (think Toy Hunter visited there) and looks down right amazing. As a comic collector as well as SW fan it's something of my version of Mecca.

Here's the comic shop opposite the turn off for the Florida Mall:

Great place :)

And here's the details for the ship in Fort Lauderhill. A billion times better than above, which is saying something. Tate's Comics is amazing. Take the virtual tour on the website:

To find the vintage SW on the virtual tour, head through the door, turn right and go all the way to the Hulk and turn left. You won't miss it then!
