Re: Rewatched rise of skywalker
I've only seen this film twice myself, and once was in the cinema and the second time was a bit of a struggle to get through. It does feel like this one will become a classic and with all the talk about this new trilogy being wiped from canon at some point by Disney, maybe it is best to just start again on some other timeline.

I watched the last Jedi the other day, actually not as bad as I remember!

I love Solo. Can't say the same for the sequels. Solo just seems like a decent Star Wars movie with no stupid characters or sub plots

Agreed, although Rogue 1 edges it for me out of the Disney ones.

7,8,9 once never again.
Re: Rewatched rise of skywalker
Watched them all loads. Love TFA, love parts of TLJ (dislike some of it too- bold, divisive and beautiful all in one), really enjoyed TROS too. However, they really did miss a trick with getting the main OT stars on screen together for a major scene and would've benefited with a much more carefully planned approach for all three as a trilogy, before anything even started shooting. There was obviously a huge amount of love that went into them- loads of cool ideas and the effects were phenomenal. I really liked the actors as well. On reflection, feels a bit of a mess. Think they could've achieved so much more, had they just taken their time.
Collecting SW since 1980.

Re: Rewatched rise of skywalker
I will probably make a much larger post at some point regarding my opinions on the Disney films. But just thought I'd make a quick one about The Rise of Skywalker.
I'm probably going to be the only person on here to say this, but personally, The Rise of Skywalker is my favourite Star Wars film. I'm not saying that Disney haven't made any mistakes with the films that they have produced so far, as there are things which I would have done differently. But overall, TROS is my favourite film! I really loved the ending on Tatooine. I said about six months before its release that I wanted it do end on Tatooine with the force ghosts, and looking into the binary suns - And it did actually end like that!
I also really enjoyed the scene when Luke lifted his x-wing on Ahch-To.
There are so many things that I want to talk about regarding the sequels (good & bad), but as I said, I'll do that on a separate post when I've got a bit more time!

I loved seeing Luke's X Wing rise up for rey and the ending on tatooine I thought was a nice way to end it for me being an original trilogy fan.

Re: Rewatched rise of skywalker
I agree their was some real fan nostalgia which was great, but the feeling I get from that trilogy is that is was just rushed and not thought through enough.

Re: Rewatched rise of skywalker
I've watched TROS a couple of times, not in cinema, isn't worth it. They've could had made it more worthwhile, using a story line about Rey becoming empress Palpatine. There is something off about the humor, doesn't work and yes, Luke rising his X-Wing from the bottom of the ocean is cool, really cool. That connects to the OT and is fine. And yes, I must concur that Solo is a pretty good SW movie, as is Rogue One. I really don't know what have got into Disneys mind. They have made beautiful fairy tales, but SW is not their cup of tea...
