Thanks guys.
Cake cut up, munched up and shared amongst the neighbours!
Fret not, the Jawa and Chewie are still here and perched on a half constructed looking 2nd Death Star!!
Yep, she's pretty talented.
Looking forward to catching up with shed loads of posts i've missed.
I've just had a very brief look through, it seems like i've missed loads.
I've been so busy recently, haven't had time to do hardly anything other than work.
I'm really aware that i promised to send Tigerham a Tiger related gift weeks ago, but still haven't got around to buying it yet, don't worry mate, i haven't forgotten about you
She normally just sells them to friends and family friends from the base we're stationed at. Generally between £35 - £45, the larger Wedding cakes are generally a lot more though.
To be fair there isn't any money in it for her. A £30 cake would probably cost about £12 in ingredients, ribbon, box etc leaving £18 to cover all of the tools and a £300 Kenwood mixer, gas, electric and apx 8 hrs work per cake. It's hardly worth going on Dragons Den for
It is more of a hobby/passion for her. She is a part time Nurse and full time mum of our twins so doesn't have a great deal of spare time.
I'm sure given notice we/she may be able to do a cake for local collection but we certainly wouldn't be in the market to engage with Parcel Force and UPS! Iain, as you know we are often in your neck of the woods, so a delivered one to you isn't out of the question!
Right, i'll be catching up with all of the threads much later on tonight!!
Once again, thanks guys, i'm off to give her Chewie a chewing
