Did someone say Cake?

That looks amazing mate, your wife has a real talent!

I'm pretty sure I know which part of the cake Ed would go for. About the only thing he has left to do with his Jawa focus is eat one!

Mate - that cake is amazing - we really need to have a chat about getting one of those bad boys

LOL thats really brilliant!

id suggest next time to have vader without helmet...hoe much fun would it be to cut a slice of his head off :)

They are brilliant!!! It goes without saying I love the Jawa (predictable!)

Vader cake is a great idea.... Although I dont fancy munching on his helmet :?

Edit - not allowed to write this apparently

Wow, your wife does a great job with these! She could very well turn this from a hobby into a proper business.

8) That Death Star cake is bloody brilliant, I did cake dec at catering college but could never do anything this good. The only problem is I wouldnt want to cut that up!

Yeah they are definitely good enough to sell!!

How much does she charge, for example, the death star cake?

Can she do these mail order?

Thanks guys.
Cake cut up, munched up and shared amongst the neighbours!
Fret not, the Jawa and Chewie are still here and perched on a half constructed looking 2nd Death Star!!

Yep, she's pretty talented.

Looking forward to catching up with shed loads of posts i've missed.
I've just had a very brief look through, it seems like i've missed loads.

I've been so busy recently, haven't had time to do hardly anything other than work.

I'm really aware that i promised to send Tigerham a Tiger related gift weeks ago, but still haven't got around to buying it yet, don't worry mate, i haven't forgotten about you :)

She normally just sells them to friends and family friends from the base we're stationed at. Generally between £35 - £45, the larger Wedding cakes are generally a lot more though.
To be fair there isn't any money in it for her. A £30 cake would probably cost about £12 in ingredients, ribbon, box etc leaving £18 to cover all of the tools and a £300 Kenwood mixer, gas, electric and apx 8 hrs work per cake. It's hardly worth going on Dragons Den for :)

It is more of a hobby/passion for her. She is a part time Nurse and full time mum of our twins so doesn't have a great deal of spare time.

I'm sure given notice we/she may be able to do a cake for local collection but we certainly wouldn't be in the market to engage with Parcel Force and UPS! Iain, as you know we are often in your neck of the woods, so a delivered one to you isn't out of the question!

Right, i'll be catching up with all of the threads much later on tonight!!

Once again, thanks guys, i'm off to give her Chewie a chewing

I have never heard it referred to as that before but i wish you Good luck!!!

Those cakes are fantastic, and as others have said they'd easily sell for £40+

I recently bought my other half a fancy cake for her 40th, I regret not getting her a Yoda now

This thread needed a bump with this years cake!
I missed last years as I was away serving Queen & country on my birthday but here is this years:

The Tiger stripes are because my work Squadron is a NATO Tiger Sqn and it's the only Tiger Sqn in the RAF so we kinda have a bit of a thing going for Tigers!

I love cake nom nom nom
