Everyone was asked to come up with a list of specific things they want and Edd promised he would do whatever he could to get something from said list. It was a competition on a vintage toy forum for the chance of winning... guess what?... a vintage toy. The fact that you actually got to make a wish-list at all is more than you might get in other competitions of this kind. I gave quite a broad, basic and varied list of "wants" and would have been extremely happy to get anything on that list. Hell, i'd have been happy to get anything at all. For a ****ing fiver i'm really not fussed. If it was a comp to win some cash i wouldn't have taken part. Don't see the point. What the **** would that have to do with anything? I play poker from time to time, gamble on sports and even buy the odd lottery ticket but i'm not here for that kind of thing. I'm here for my love of vintage Star Wars toys (and the films etc). I someone wanted to run and Off Topic raffle or betting game just for the hell of it, i guess i might give it a spin but a competition run by the forum, for the forum being anything other than a vintage star wars related competition with a vintage Star Wars related prize (chosen by participant or not it's really not important) would just be absurd and a little questionable.
I will add this, certain people, possibly other than Josh, did not want to partake in the competition because of the rules of which stated the prize will and must be a vintage Star Wars toy/item bought for and picked out by the person running the competition so changing that would in my opinion not be fair or right. Giving the winner money to put towards something he wishes to buy himself is exactly what was said wouldn't happen and the exact reason Josh (and possibly others) said they wouldn't take part.
