    Is everyone asleep??

I'm sorry to have been away from this place for so long. It's a great place to hang out and get away from life's troubles. I'll make sure to drop by more often.

Are there any other sagas that come close to Star Wars?

Somebody did a fan edit that had Starbuck flying back to the fleet in the Cylon ship that the three arrived in but I can't find it on youtube now. That's been a conclusion to the story that's been talked about for ages.

Are there any other sagas that come close to Star Wars?

I feel old, with you saying that your dad was a fan of Blake's 7 and Battlestar! I'm not sure how both will play these days, compared to modern sci-fi. I think it helps if you grew up with them. Both programmes have their fair share of duff episodes but got better as they went along. For me...

Are there any other sagas that come close to Star Wars?

I mentioned that the Mission Galactica series was terrible except for one episode. That was the one you remember - The Return of Sturbuck. What a great one, and was the last original cast programme to be made. The only reason I slogged through the entire series and got to see "The Return of...

Are there any other sagas that come close to Star Wars?

There have been some good calls here from people and I'd agree with everyone. The saga that meant the most to me growing up was the original series of Battlestar Galactica, that was first shown in mid-1980, timed with the nation-wide release of The Empire Strikes Back. I had already seen the...

What characters in films or television influenced you as a young person?

Thanks for sharing. What an eclectic selection. What year were you born? The Tobey Maguire Spiderman? Alan Grant from Jurassic Park? Sam Neil often plays inspirational good guy roles. I forgot about cartoon and video game characters (Tintin, Solid Snake). I loved the Trigan Empire comic...

What characters in films or television influenced you as a young person?

When I was growing up, there seemed to be no end of heroic, potent and down-right macho characters on television and the cinema. They also showed a more sensitive and caring side. I had many characters as my role models, so I wonder what other peoples were. Mine would include: Adam West in...

Apart from the Star Wars Trilogy what were your three most favourite childhood films

Some great choices of films here. Having been born in 1970, movies from the 1980s were a key part of my adolescence (Star in The Lost Boys was the most stunning woman I’d seen). My childhood films go back a little further than that. Cinema: The Black Hole, Battlestar Galactica. Moonraker...

Why is carbon dioxide a danger when it’s only 0.04% of the atmosphere?

Thanks. That's genuinely interesting. I've not heard it put that way before. Would you know what the level of C02 in the atmosphere was when records began? Or perhaps from ice samples? I had a small look on Google but couldn't find anything.

Why is carbon dioxide a danger when it’s only 0.04% of the atmosphere?

I have watched that film in the link, "Everything is a Rich Man's Trick" and it is incredibly powerful. I would recommend it to anyone who has a conspiracy theory point of view but if you want to go about your life, without worrying about things you have no control over, avoid it at all costs...

Why is carbon dioxide a danger when it’s only 0.04% of the atmosphere?

Thanks for sharing. The CO2 might be that finely balanced, I don't know. I'm just looking to see what people's ideas are.

Why is carbon dioxide a danger when it’s only 0.04% of the atmosphere?

The congressional hearings go on all the time and there seems to be a few Congressmen who have a few brain cells and do their best to grill the experts, whether they are on the side of climate change or are deniers. There seem to be lots of things put forward, like the activity of the sun and...

Why is carbon dioxide a danger when it’s only 0.04% of the atmosphere?

I don’t want to start a debate about climate change here but I’d like to hear from people who know about such things, why our planet is in danger from rising levels carbon dioxide when it comprises only 0.04% of the atmosphere. The fact that it is not 4%, not 0.4% but 0.04% seems to an...

What other toy lines did you use with your SW?

We didn't have much money in our household and Star Wars figures tended to be expensive. Charles Piser from the Black Hole ended up being Luke (I didn't like Luke enough to shell out any money for him!). I used anything I could get my hands on including Airfix Eagles, M.A.C, Star Trek, Black...

    Looking through some old boxes....

Great to see you did a Star Wars scrapbook for an English project. I did produced a 'dossier' on Star Wars as part of my English course work but I never got it back! Did you keep many editions of the Sunday Express comic strip? They are tough to find now.

What Toy Lines Should Have Been Made?

Okay, here’s one. How about Airwolf as being undeveloped toy-wise? There were few die-cast toys and an annual but where were the action figures, vehicles and playsets? I loved the show (and I still do) but I never found anything except for an annual and the Ertl/AMT model kit, that has...

What Toy Lines Should Have Been Made?

I remember Terrahawks really well but I was old enough to see the show’s shortcomings. I loved the ships and technology though. It recaptured some of the same spirit as Thunderbirds. Starfleet/X-Bomber predated Transformers in the West by a couple of years but the fighting robot tradition goes...

What Toy Lines Should Have Been Made?

You were one up on me. I didn’t have a single thing from Starfleet as a lad, as my slender budget was always focused on Star Wars. Thanks for the response to my photos. Starfleet seems to be almost completely unknown, except to the few of us who watched it at the time. Corresponding with fellow...
