What does Non-sonic weld mean in relation to figures and how does this differ from pre-production to production?

Does this also affect value?

Here's the textbook reading on the process. :)

Basically, it is the part of the production process of when all the pieces of the production figure are assembled together. Sometimes a figure can have a weak weld though, so it can be easily taken apart or obviously if some overstock parts are found those wouldn't have been welded either. It's neat to see all the parts that make up a figure, but I wouldn't put a huge premium on it unless it can be traced to a Kenner source. If you're looking at picking one up it's good to look for any signs of the figure being pried apart and the welding marks. There's some pretty good threads around on the subject. Here's one I quickly dug up.

Here's a LJ that I managed to find a few years ago. It looks pretty clean to me, but where it came from a random eBay seller I've always just attributed it to being a weak welded figure.

Hi guys, great thread.

I have found a few figures in some different danish childhood collections. Where the figures look like this. Now I am confused are my figures broken or is it Non-sonic weld :?
