I'm no lawyer, but I heard something about legal issues have to be pretty bang on otherwise they could be up for question from others. When my grandmother passed away several years ago there was a big split over where her ashes were to scattered. Silly yes, but hot headed Glaswegians here. The rift hasn't healed. She didn't have a will, so it was down to "well she told us....". Done through proper legal channels then it's not up for question. You also need to consider, god forbid, both of you going - ie a plane going down

then you will need to specify where your stuff will go to then.
